It’s MADNESS!!!

book-review-rsma.jpg

After much searching, I found a copy of Rubberstampmadness magazine. What’s up with JoAnn’s not having it???

On page 40 there is a fantastic review of my first book, “Stamp-A-Card”.   Thanks to Randy Churchwell of Grace Publications for doing this for me!

From the article,

“Kinnamon, as if sharing  cup of afternoon tea with you, freely shares her personal inspiration for each card design, scattering helpful hints around the text like spoonfuls of sugar.”

If you would like an autographed copy of my first book-remember you can easily buy a copy RIGHT HERE!  Click on the link below for your own copy for only $12.44. (includes shipping and handling!)

Past Cards…Why don’t I have more??

January 18th, 2008

magic-mesh-bag2.jpg

I make a LOT of cards.  But, if you were to ask me to see them… the best I can offer you is a slide show on my lap top.  My cards are either 1.  sent to family or friends,  2. sent into The Stamper’s Sampler as submissions, or 3.  send directly to a stamp/ink company.

Once, my friend Karan Olsen-Smith- the fabulous woman behind the fun company- Magic Mesh www.magicmesh.com told me that scrapbookers make things for themselves.  Card people make things for everyone else.  That’s so true!  If I did scrapping, I’d be the only one who wanted the personal pages.  Cards can be for anyone and I wouldn’t want to keep them all to myself.!  I remind myself of that when I wish I had more of my work with me!!  I hope you have a day filled with creation!

Merry Christmas and Season’s Greetings!!

December 4th, 2007

     christmas-2007.jpg         holidayn-card-07.jpg

I began my 2007 Christmas card in November!  They have been ready to be mailed for a few weeks just waiting till it was time!   Then, last week and aquaintance asked me to create a “Holiday card” for them.  It was a challenge because they are Jewish. I had to check with some of my co-workers what symbols were Christmas and what was neutral.  I was surprised to learn that things like Poinsettias are not!

Here are the two cards I created for my holiday season.  If you are getting one from me- don’t peek!!  I hope you have a wonderful holiday with friends and family.

Summer’s Over…Fall is on the way

August 27th, 2007

I am definitely a summer girl!  I love to be outside, riding my bike, or walking my dog.  But, the only negative aspect about that is I’d rather be outside than in my art room!  So!  Fall is a more “Arty” time for me.  Already, I’ve completed several deadlines in the past week.   The cooler weather inspires me to get busy and start thinking of my Halloween and maybe even Christmas cards!

Here’s an amazing card I made this week.  I got some awesome stamps from “Just for Fun” at the Stampaway convention in Cincinnati. Stamp Your Art Out!!   Get busy with your holiday cards and check out classes coming up at The Color Wheel in Enon, Ohio and Wholly Craft here in Clintonville.

Last Fall I was contacted by Jessica Strawser- editor of North Light Books.  I got to make five “sassy” cards for her new book, “Get Real Greetings.”  The book is really fun and full of great sayings you can incorporated into your rubber stamped or paper creation cards!

Design Team Ranger 2007

June 20th, 2007

picture-216.jpg

I have mentioned Ranger’s Design Team on this blog before.  Last March I flew to New Jersey to spend a weekend with Tim Holtz, Robin Beam and the rest of the awesome Ranger staff.  We learned a lot about their fabulous products and amazing techniques.  Our final project was to create a scrapbook page creating every element.  We didn’t use any scrapbook papers.  It was a real challenge and a lot of fun.  This pic shows me with Tim sharing my page with the rest of the Design Team.  It’s NOT great picture of me (frizz!) but I’m up front with Tim!

Sunflower and Circles

June 5th, 2007

sunflower-sm.jpg

This card was created using Penscore.  This really cool material sold by Ranger can be heated and then pressed into objects.  The warm material will take on the impression of the object. The sunflower cards was made by pressing Penscore into Sequin Scrim.  What is Sequin scrim?  It’s the material left over after sequins are punched out.  It can be used to add REALLY cool accents to cards!!

If you want some (it’s hard to find in craft stores!) check out my auctions on Ebay.  My seller name is “Stamps3070″  I am selling three feet for 99 cents!!
